Elverhøj Museum is focused on documenting the history of Solvang and celebrating the Danish-American immigrant experience. The historic museum structure was originally the home of Viggo Brandt-Erichsen and his wife Martha Mott. Both accomplished artists, they designed the house in a style derived from the large farmhouses of 18th century Jutland in northern Denmark. Green practices: The Elverhoj Museum of History & Art is committed to environmental sustainability. Green practices have long been a part of the daily work routine. Recently, the museum undertook a major renovation of the outdoor spaces and grounds, enhancing its ability to serve as a gathering place and Solvang’s cultural hub. Certified through a Green Business Network program (Certified Level).
