Founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, Patagonia is an outdoor apparel company based in Ventura, California. Patagonia's product line includes outdoor, alpine, fly fishing, snow, surf and sport-related apparel, equipment, footwear and accessories. The company committed to authentic product quality and environmental activism, contributing over $55 million in grants and in-kind donations to date. Green practices: Patagonia has incorporated environmental responsibility into product development, since 1996. They use organically grown cotton, chlorine free wool, and recycle polyester in its clothing line. The company’s entire product line is recyclable through its Common Threads Partnership.
