After moving to California from Switzerland where he was born, Marco Schmidli established Schmidli Backdrops in 1989. Schmidli Backdrops creates awe-inspiring backdrops that are featured throughout the fashion and film production industry for editorial photography, celebrity portraits, music videos, commercials, television shows and feature films. Today their inventory contains more than 2,000 unique pieces. Green practices: Schmidli Backdrops does their part to reduce their ecological footprint by installing a new, tankless water heater. They use natural sunlight via windows and skylights, rarely requiring studio lights to be turned on. They ship and receive their backdrops in reusable containers that customers return for reuse. Certified through a Green Business Network program (Certified Level).
