Since 2/15/1981 Hostelling International at Pigeon Point Lighthouse has been serving up to 13,500 overnight guests annually with one third youth learning about the environment. We are a 501(c)3 not for profit. Our Mission is "To help all, especially the young, to gain a greater understanding of the world and it's people through hostelling." Green practices: Hostelling International is greener than our competition because we use our resources better. We accommodate more people in a smaller space and share space and charge less as a non-profit. We have above and beyond water saving technology, use LED lighting as well as green star appliances and interpretive information for guests on conservation. Certified through a Green Business Network program (Certified Level).
