The EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park is an educational community center that uses sustainable on-site power, water and wastewater systems. It is owned and maintained by the Port of San Francisco and operated by The Bay Institute Aquarium Foundation through a lease agreement with the Port. Green practices: The EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park is San Francisco's first 100 percent “off-grid” building, modeling solar power and alternative wastewater technologies. Certified through a Green Business Network program (Certified Level).
