Aquarium of the Bay is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit with a mission to protect, restore, and inspire conservation of San Francisco Bay and its watershed, from the Sierra to the sea. With sustainability at the core of our mission, it is important to us to reduce our carbon footprint and continue to find ways to improve on green initiatives that will not only make an impact on our local environment, but on a global scale as well. We have received multiple Green Business recertifications. Green practices: With the help of our dedicated staff and guests, we maintain our Green Business status through periodic, independent audits of our water usage, energy usage, pollution prevention, zero waste efforts, hazardous waste removal, and general practices centered on conservation. Certified through a Green Business Network program (Certified Level).
