Markham Vineyards is proud to be one of the first four, continuously operating wineries founded in the Napa Valley. Bordeaux immigrant Jean Laurent built the heart of the present day winery, our stone cellar, from rough-hewn stone painstakingly transported from Glass Mountain Quarry in 1879. In 1978, Bruce Markham purchased the Laurent winery and Markham Vineyards was born. Markham is known for our consistently delicious Merlot but we also have a wide range of limited production & estate wines. Green practices: Markham Vineyards’ view of wine growing has always been to respect the land and fruit while working diligently to make both better. We use cover crops and alternate row cultivation to limit fossil fuel emissions and encourage beneficial insect and plant growth. Certified through a Green Business Network program (Certified Level).
