The Greenhouse Project (TGP) is a Carson City nonprofit with a mission of providing healthy produce for the food insecure residents in our community. Since our first harvest in 2012 - a beautiful crop of lettuce - TGP has grown. Green Central, which is our main site, is located at Carson High School and offers work-based learning for the students. Here, we have added an outdoor classroom, and a Native Plant Nursery & Composting Program. Green practices: Today we have developed as a resource to teach Carson City’s youth and citizens the importance of sustainable living, how to grow their own foods and to be healthy, increase their knowledge of nutrition, and love the outdoors. Certified through a Green Business Network program (Tier 1: Leader).
