Rick Slater established Rick’s Diagnostic & Repair Service and has been serving Islanders, visitors and Vashon businesses since 1989. In February 2019, Rick moved his business to Tacoma. Rick has over 40 years of experience repairing vehicles including working at Seattle dealerships, Clark lift, and independent shops. His automotive education includes a degree from Denver Diesel and Technical College, Emission Certification Training, Hybrid Safety and Service Training. Green practices: As a green business, Rick’s joined the King County EnviroStars program in 1998. Along with increasing our recycling and proper disposal of hazardous waste we no longer use solvents. King County awarded Rick’s a grant toward the purchase of a Detergent Parts Washer and was recognized by King County as a 5-Star EnviroStars business. Certified through a Green Business Network program (EnviroStars).
