Peace Lutheran is a member church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Peace is a vibrant, welcoming, multigenerational congregation located in the Gatewood Hill neighborhood of West Seattle. When our congregation was organized in 1944, during World War II, our first members chose the name PEACE as an expression of their hopes and prayers for peace in the world and in their lives. Green practices: Peace Lutheran has a community outreach orientation. As part of that larger effort Peace has a Creation Care team focused on helping us live into our first vocation as Earth keepers in an age of rapid climate change. Certified through a Green Business Network program (EnviroStars).
