The Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD) is the first municipal water district in California, providing high-quality drinking water to approximately 191,000 residents in central and southern Marin County. Established in 1912, MMWD manages over 21,000 acres of watershed land, leading to seven reservoirs on Mount Tamalpais and in West Marin. The district offers water conservation programs, including information on rainwater catchment and graywater systems, and features a virtual 'Water Saver Home Tour' on its website. Volunteer opportunities are available under the 'Jobs at MMWD' section.
