Denver Urban Gardens' Food Forest Program establishes perennial food-producing landscapes in urban settings, providing education and community engagement opportunities. These food forests are designed as shaded oases of public access, featuring water-friendly dryland crops that thrive in a changing climate while serving the community. Each new food forest plants food-producing perennial plants in common public spaces across the Denver Metropolitan Area, aiming to be community-led and receptive to neighborhoods. DUG actively seeks new potential sites for these initiatives.
